Guilty Pleasures

I enjoy subscribing to e-mails from companies that sell clothing, purses, shoes, accessories, jewelry, etc. fashion related.  Most of these companies sell these items for prices I would have to sell my body for a high dollar amount.  For example, my favorite is Gucci.

I live for handbags like Carrie Bradshaw does.  I know I have more invested than I should in those material goods; those fabulous, rich, and gorgeous goods.

While these sites cause feelings of happiness, joy, and excitement, they also cause feelings of sadness, disappointment, and loneliness when I cannot afford to purchase items (haha, yes, I really do feel lonely).  In my tiny, low voice:  I often add them to cart then abandon ship!  Gasp!  The horror :(   I’m so ashamed :(

My friend, who has the same problem, was told that the simple cure is to unsubscribe from the e-mails; but, that is no option for a junkie.  And no fun for that matter!  It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, right?

There is something to be said for pleasure that comes from pain…

What is your guilty pleasure?

I love fashion, but…

I had a revelation this morning while getting dressed for work.  This may be the most profound knowledge that I have about fashion.

I suppose I have never tried anything like what I did this morning.  This could have been a total travesty if followed through.  When something like this comes your way in life, you can’t help but think the angels are watching over you.

I will share this wealth of knowledge with you because I wouldn’t want anyone to discover what I did in the middle of a work day or a date.

Here goes… You cannot wear Capri pants with a ¾ length sweater or shirt.  It just looks like your clothes have shrunk.

Hahahah!  I committed this major crime in the wee hours this morning.  Maybe it was the lack of sleep, or maybe I have NO fashion sense, but at one point I was wearing what looked like the clothes of a 7 year old on my 20 something body.

Please remember this for the rest of your days.  It can be prevented.
